Concentrating, standardizing and optimizing selected categories of Synthon’s direct and indirect purchasing spend on NPR materials, services and MRO required to operate the business, through the definition, implementation and execution of a group procurement policy and effective strategies while simultaneously supporting the set-up of a Global Procurement organization within Synthon.

Job mission

The Senior Procurement Manager will be overseeing selected categories of direct spend and all of the indirect spend for the global business. You will be tasked to develop and implement a group procurement policy across multiple country organizations and to manage the execution of defined initiatives to reduce cost while maintaining or improving the level of service to the company. As a Senior Procurement Manager you are working with senior level stakeholders in the local and global organizations within the company to achieve the defined results.

Job details

• Define and implement a global policy for the management of selected categories of direct and all indirect procurement
• Support the definition, set-up and development of the Synthong gobal procurement organization
• Conduct detailed demand, spend, cost and market analysis and define a structured approach to tendering and negotiating with suppliers
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships including tracking and analysis of vendor spend and performance, conduct risk analysis and identify underlying reasons or facts and develop mitigation plans, including supplier diversity plans
• Manage contract execution at a strategic level
• Participate and advice in major Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) projects
• Mentor a team of approximately 5 purchasers world-wide
• you develop and support the team during contract negotiations
• You are together with the team responsible for cost reduction and supplier performance KPI's
• You lead the team on complex negotiation with suppliers, you proactively manage projects, perform purchasing tenders and supplier selection
• Collaborate with selected procurement optimization partners within Synthon shareholder’s network to reduce purchasing spend
• Report to the vice president Global Supply Chain.

Contract hours: fulltime (36 - 40 hours per week)

Your profile

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Economics, Business Science, Logistics or comparable 
• 10+ years of experience with (in)direct procurement and contracting of professional services • Expert supplier management, spend analysis and contract negotiation skills
• 5+ years of experience in the generic pharmaceutical industry • Excellent communication and people management skills and ability to train, mentor and develop a team of purchasers
• A high proficiency in English both in writing and speaking, other languages are a plus
• Advanced experience with IT tools like Office, SAP, Every Angle, etc.
