On 23 June, Synthon s.r.o. - our site in the Czech Republic - hosted the final presentations of their ‘Best thesis in organic chemistry’ competition. This competition is organized for university students doing a master's degree in organic chemistry. The project is unique in that it includes all the important Czech universities with this specialization.

The first selection of the nominated students was done by the universities. A committee consisting of respectable academic members and a Synthon specialist in the field of organic chemistry conducted the second evaluation. The three best students were invited to Synthon to present and defend their thesis in person. Filip Kalčic from the Charles University in Prague was named the winner of the Synthon Award and the corresponding check. Synthon also awarded his tutor a check to be used for follow-up research work.

After the official ceremony, the three finalists were offered the opportunity to tour the Czech plant, laboratories and production hall.
